When I first saw the video of Hossein and Majid Kavousifar I did not undrestand why he was smiling while being taken to his execution.

Two weeks ago I was looking for a good Akbar Mohammadi picture to frame, I chose one where he is wearing a suit, there is no smile on his face. My dad told me that I should find a picture where he is smiling, because we should never show the enemy that we feel sad, discouraged or defeated. Thats exactly what I did, I found a picture of him smiling.

I recently had the pleasure of reading Akbar Mohammadi's Memoirs, a quote stuck with me "I am not afraid of death. It is quite true that life is precious, life is sweet but for freedom and in defense of the people, death is even sweeter"

I have been thinking about Kavousifar's and Akbar Mohammadi's smile for quite sometime now, and it finally came together. Now I undrestand why he was smiling.
Kavousifar's smile was not one of defeat, it was of victory, it was a smile mocking the oppressors and telling them that the end is near...

I will never forget that smile...

Domestic Genocide in Iran

The world’s most notorious state exponent of anti-Semitism, the Islamic Republic of Iran, is on a path to uproot, not only all that are perceived as civilized, but to annihilate the greatest threat to its existence, the Iranian people. The mullahs and their mercenaries are wasting precious human life in order to maintain themselves in power through terrorizing the population.

The Iranian people are simply hopeless and helpless. Even the UN does not come to their rescue. From its past performance, rather its absence of performance, we know that the UN watchdog is a true disgrace to dogs, since all it does is eat, sleep and look the other way. Furthermore, the dog has no teeth. The vet had to pull all its teeth before the dog became acceptable to the crafty cats that constitute the UN itself.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a unique creature—it is best described as a Theocratic Aristocracy. The “divinely-ordained” rulers maintain themselves in power by an elaborate system of patronage. Lucrative positions, contracts, and valued privileges are distributed by patronage. The result is that the ruling Mullahs enjoy a significant number of supporters in all strata of society—the civil service, the military, the powerful Revolutionary Guards, and the hooligans and thugs who are ready to unleash their vicious attacks on anyone or group that dares to challenge the in-charge men of Allah.

The illegitimate government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a quisling entity that has betrayed its people, its tradition, its glorious pre-Islamic achievements, and is incessantly working against Iran’s national interest. Iran, under the stranglehold and machinations of the Mullahs, has been transformed, in less than three decades, to the lead perpetrator of all that is abhorrent to humanity.

The supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, like his predecessor, Ayatollah Khomeini, whose callous disregard for human life was matched only by his consuming paranoia, allegedly has issued a decree to hang Iranian dissidents publicly in all the towns and villages with a population that exceeds 1000 people. For Ayatollah Khamenei, the dissident viewpoints represent an unacceptable threat. Anyone found questioning the Sharia Law -- and many hundreds of thousands were -- had to be "weeded out.” The Islamic Republic is on a mission to end human life in Iran.

Comments: Under the rule of these agents of death, the mullahs, everything in Iran is deteriorating and dying. In spite of huge oil revenues, the per capita income of the Iranians is now about one third of what it was before the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Every form of misery has also skyrocketed. Drug addiction, prostitution and suicide have gone through the roof. The young and the educated continue deserting Iran and family, fleeing to the four corners of the earth in search of a decent life while the mullahs continue to execute the children of Iran. We, the free people of the world condemn, in the strongest terms, the new coalition of fascists who are on a genocidal mission against the people of Iran.

Based on scattered information from VOA and other unconfirmed reports regarding Majid and Hossein Kavousifar, they both left Iran for Abu Dhabi following the assassination of the murderous judge, Hassan Moghaddas, and apparently they both took refuge in the US Embassy where they had applied for US asylum. After close to one month there is no information as to why they were handed over to the Islamic Republic authorities when they were aware that they would definitely be facing, torture and execution. So far there is no attempt by US State Dept. to provide complete information regarding this case.

According to freedom-loving open letters, petition, articles , many Activists comments, Bloggers and many pro American Iranians from Iran the Kavousifar case is very big issue for pro American community in Iran and USA and have damaged their trust towards the State Dept. officials decision and it is not going away by state of denial or ignoring this case to protect few individuals in the State Dept. decision making process.

The best way to handle this case by State Dept. is to provide complete details of Kavousifar case for public from the beginning to end and why as it happened without any censorship.

Appreciate Professor Ganji dissatisfaction for bad decision by US Embassy regarding Iranian Heroes Majid and Hossein Kavousifar case in his today excellent interview with VOA . Please watch this interview, there are many good points in Professor Ganji's interview. Also please read Mr. Shahriar Fathi comments below regarding this interview.

Dear Mr. Imani,

I am writing to thank you for your article on The
American Thinker website. Did you know that the UK's
Daily Mail ran an article on the executions, with
several photographs of the men being hung? However,
the article didn't mention--although anyone who at all
follows Iran knew the reason--that the judge was a
harsh fanatic. Nor did the article mention that the
men had originally asked for asylum in the US embassy
in Dubai but were then turned back to Iran. That part
is more sickening than the executions.

I hope that Mr. Lifson publishes more of your articles
on his excellent site.

Good luck with your cause.

Call for Help against chain executions in Iran

For nearly three decades, the Mullahs have been doing all they could to arrest, imprison, torture and kill with impunity the home grown opposition in the most inhuman and savage fashion, and want the rest of the world to keep its nose out of their “family” business. In recent weeks the executions in Iran have skyrocketed again. The Mullahs are proven once again to be vicious mass killers.

To remain in power, the Mullahs and their apparatus rely on “preventive” measures. They don’t bother with due process of law or the value of human life. Their “revolutionary guards” dispense with the “due” and gets right to the “process.” On the slightest suspicion, they arrest, convict and execute. They expect ‘Allah’ in the next world to take the time to determine the person’s guilt or innocence.

We are told, by a reliable source within Iran that the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has given a confidential and tacit decree to execute publicly Iranian youth in all the towns and villages with a population that exceeds 1000 people. We believe the cause of these massive and rabid executions by the Islamic Republic is the immense fear of the regime for a sudden uprising of the Iranian people who oppose the regime and its barbaric treatment of the innocent Iranian people. The feeling of hatred is simmering for the despotic rulers in Iran among the population.

They have summarily executed tens of thousands of Iranian dissidents. Their record speaks for itself. They had no qualms at sending thousands of children to clear the minefields ahead of their tanks during the 1980-88 war with Iraq; and they have thousands of “martyrs” brainwashed and prepared to serve as bomb mules to be dispatched to any place in the world.

While we recognize the right of legitimate governments to bring to justice those suspected of serious crimes, we condemn with the strongest terms the death penalty imposed on Iranian dissidents in Iran.

We are organizing series of demonstrations to protest the recent executions by the Islamic Republic of Iran and call for the freedom and the prisoners of conscience who are being held and tortured by the Islamic Republic in Iran. We are asking the free people of the civilized world to join us in this noble act.

We think it is little more than an exercise in denial to believe that nothing bad will happen, and that the corrupt inept Mullahs will likely shoot themselves in the foot instead of wreaking havoc on the world. We keep pleading that we should forthwith help the Iranian democratic opposition and send the death-bearer Mullahs back to their mosques. It is the free world’s best and urgent option.

If your family has been victimized by the Islamist Mafia Regime in Iran or is a family member of one of the over 100,000 freedom-loving political prisoners, torture victims, or Iranians who have been executed in the past 28 years, please bring a picture of your loved one/s to the demonstration.

If you oppose all terrorism and acts of violence against those who wish to live in freedom, then your support and unity with the Iranian people should not be based on whether you are a democrat, republican, libertarian, conservative, independent, green, left, right, or center, but should be based only on your belief that the destiny of the human race is freedom and the unending pursuit of our wishes and our dreams.

Freedom-loving Iranians and people of the world invite you to participate in one of the above scheduled demonstrations by http://tazahorat.com , or organize it one near you which are part of an overall offensive that is being launched against the Islamic Mafia Master's of Terror, who currently hold the Iranian people and much of the world hostage. Together we will destroy this fanatical virus that threatens to destroy all we have fought, suffered, and lived for, for so long! Our destiny is nothing less than absolute freedom, an end to political imprisonment, and the death of theocratic regimes everywhere!

We cannot sit around and wait for the bureaucracies of the world to bring freedom to WE THE PEOPLE, so we must join forces and unite with all who believe in freedom. When freedom is in danger, it matters little what political leanings or perspectives we hold. We are all human beings and so together we must show our strength through unity and defeat the Islamofascist Terrorists and the regimes who sponsor them as they work hard to divide us.

Commentary by U.S. Alliance for Democratic Iran

USADI - Gallows are being erected all over Iran. Construction cranes are used to build and develop everywhere else. In Iran of ayatollahs, however, they are used to destroy, to take life. Yes, in Iran, construction cranes are the main instrumnet of mullahs’ industry of death and used for public executions.

This week, Iran’s clerical regime, which has perfected the skill of staging barbaric spectacles of public executions, could not restrain itself form another display of savagery even while Mrs. Louise Arbour, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights was visiting Iran this week.

Her visit and subsequent speech at the ayatollahs-sponsored ministerial meeting of Non-Aligned Movement on human rights, in midst of appalling rise in the number of execution and public hangings was a slap in the face Iranians aspiring fro democracy and human rights. As expected, the visit was hugely exploited by the ayatollahs as sign of UN satisfaction with their human rights practices.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International, noting that at least 210 people including two child offenders have been executed in Iran since the start of 2007, issued a statement saying that it was “appalled at the reports of the execution of 21 people in Iran”, earlier in the week.

Only in Iran of ayatollahs 21 individuals are executed, many in public, while a conference on human rights is held in the capital. And only in Iran of ayatollahs the foreign minister has the despicable audacity to propose “that the Regional Bureau for Human Rights in Southwest Asia be stationed in Tehran” while a few blocks away, Iranians are getting lashed and arrested for mal-veiling

To be sure, Ayatollahs and the former assassin-turned-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are not oblivious to audacity or timing of their actions, but they are desperate. With economy in shambles and Iran’s growing isolation as a result of the leadership’s heightened belligerence, the anti-government protests are on the rise. Without gallows and public hangings, amputation of limbs, gouging eyes and humiliating lashing of disenchanted youth, without kidnapping and torture of dissidents, the tyrant mullahs would not be able to keep their house of cards. Without a reign of terror, they would not be able to quell the rising opposition to their nuclear program and financing of terrorism in Iraq while more than half of Iran’s population lives in poverty.

Iran rulers need to sow seeds of terror and savagery to survive. Lacking any capacity to deliver their almost three-decade long promises of peace, freedom, economic and social prosperity; and lacking any respect for the sanctity of life; their solution for rising demands of Iranians for change is to kill, to maim, and to terrorize.

And when the international objections to their heinous and rogue behavior rise; their response is to escalate efforts to make nuclear weapons, to plunge Iraq in sectarian bloodshed, and to kill Iraqis and Americans with exported IEDs.

On some occasions, however, acts of pure resistance thwart their wicked schemes.

Last month in an elaborate spectacle, the ayatollahs’ regime publicly executed Majid Kavoussifar, 28, and his nephew Hossein Kavousifar, 24; two years after they shot a notorious judge, Hassan Moghaddas to death. Moghaddas, well-known for his role in 1988 whole-scale massacre of Iranian political prisoners as well as execution and imprisonment of dissidents, journalists and free thinkers, was killed by the two individuals on the 17th anniversary of the massacre.

On the day of execution the Kavousifars told the prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi, the killer of Iranian-Canadian journalist Zahra Kazemi in 2003, that they did not regret what they had done. At the scene, Majid was all smile and unwavering, refusing to show any sign of fear. With tremendous struggle he moved his hand-cuffed hands from behind to his side to wave at people. With a huge smile on his face, he told them “God bless you, I am at your service.” A moment later the construction crane lifted him and his young nephew to death.

In those few minutes, with a smile, with a gesture of hand, and utterance of just a few words, Majid mocked mullahs’ reign of terror, uplifted Iranians long-held tradition of resistance against tyranny, and immortalized himself in the psyche of Iranians forever.

Just barely over a year ago Valiollah Feiz-Mahdavi, another Iranian hero, was executed by the ayatollahs in Gohardasht prison. He was a sympathizer of Iran’s main opposition movement, the Iranian Mujahedeen and never submitted to demands for TV confession even under sever torture.

In a translation of his last recorded voice message to Iranian people from prison, obtained by the Women’s Forum Against Fundamentalism, Feiz-Mahdavi said:

“I truly believe that freedom, democracy and justice are as vital to human life as the air one breathes. I thus permit myself to ask you not to abandon Iran’s just fight against the oppressive regime of the mullahs. I also have a few words for the leaders and minions of the regime: we will never resign ourselves to the ignominy of surrendering to your repressive dictatorship, even if it will cost us our lives.”

This spirit, the sprit of resistance against tyranny, embodied by Kavousifars, Feiz-Mahdavi and thousands of other Iranian women and men who fought and died for liberty; is what would ultimately bring the rule of Iran tyrants down. This spirit is what the Iranian people should be recognized with, not by the anti-Iranian, anti-life, terror-sponsoring ayatollahs that rule them with gallows, whips, and bayonet. And this is the spirit we need to cultivate in Iraq in order to defeat the evil of Tehran-exported fundamentalism and bloodshed. (USADI)

Why US politicians, Media and every American should hear the Majid and Hossein Kavousifar case in a public hearing.

There are three reasons American politicians should conduct a hearing questioning the actions of the US Embassy in UAE in returning to Iran two Iranian men who killed an Iranian judge named Moghadas.

1- Moghadas wasn’t just an innocent judge as portrayed by the regime. He was a merciless killer who indiscriminately ordered the death of thousands of innocent Iranians. We need to hear the side of the two young men who did not get a chance to be heard.

• There is no question that the two men killed Judge Moghadas.

o According to Washington Post, November 18, 2000

Iran Opens Court but Judges Block Reform

By Molly Moore

o In America, politicians and those who have a hand in politics encourage Iranians to “stand up.” The two young men thought “standing up” meant killing the oppressors. They thought killing the murderous Judge was a good thing to be rewarded; instead they were hanged. We know a crime is a crime and we can’t fight terrorist, with terror but we don’t adequately define what we mean when we say, “rise up.” They assumed killing every judge and mullah on the street is the desire of American politicians.

2- The Iranian government, with the help of the US Embassy in Dubai and the UAE government, hanged two of its opposition on August 03, 2007

http://www.activistchat.com/community/heroes.html

3- Iranians are outraged that the US rejected the two men without a hearing and without investigating Judge Moghadas’ history. Iranians all know he was a cold blooded killer who is now portrayed as a saint. The Iranian opposition is frustrated. Was this a mistake, a one-time blink to the Iranian regime or is it policy which should be corrected to prevent future occurrences?

• The regime is using their propaganda system against the Iranian people in an attempt to keep them quiet. They are trying to intimidate us by killing us. Iranian opposition is gathering under one umbrella for the first time in many years to ask for justice. In a twisted manner, this is good news for America. Unity among Iranians is a rarity which should be embraced. Iranians want a public hearing. I believe their modest request should be considered.
http://activistchat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=31544#31544

• Although the American government doesn’t want to have a dialogue with the Iranian regime, it should hear the concerns of Iranians and work for a good relationship with the people who are allies in the struggle against the mullahs. This sad case provides that opportunity.

That is my opinion as a cautious Iranian who is regularly in touch with ordinary Iranians.

• I would like to see the messages we send to Iranians explained properly.

When the two Iranians showed up at the US Embassy in Dubai after killing the judge, embassy personnel should have checked Iranian law before surrendering them to Interpol, who turned them over to the UAE police, who generously handed them back to Iran. When the UAE police return a member of the Iranian opposition to the Iranian regime, they know the fate of the opposition. This is a major concern of the Iranian opposition, which comprises over 85 percent of Iranians inside and outside Iran. They are asking, “If we rise up, will we be delivered back to the Iranian regime to be killed?”

This decision by the US Embassy and UAE has only helped the Iranian regime and has outraged Iranian opposition that the lives of two Iranian patriots are not even considered worthy to have their side of the story heard.

• US politicians can use this opportunity to show a green light to the people of Iran by correcting the mistake made about two resistance fighters who tried to advance the US cause; hopefully avoiding similar situations in the future, which only cause divisiveness among allies and benefit the government of Iran.

In the inserted link, you can see those Iranian groups who express the same concerns described above. http://www.activistchat.com/community/heroes.html

Iranian Americans contribute over 200 Billion dollars per year to the American economy. They want and deserve as much as attention to this case as was paid to the American scholar from Woodrow Wilson Center because their money and votes count too. Iranians may be scattered on a lot of things but when it comes to action against the regime, the Iranian community is overwhelmingly united and would like to know that this mistake made in Dubai was not dictated by Washington.

As a human rights activist, an Iranian and Shiah scholar, I believe this is one of the best chances America will have to extend an olive branch to the Iranian people, encouraging them instead of shutting them down. In my opinion, Bureaucratism is not the preferable route to promote America’s way of freedom for the Middle East. If what happened in the US Embassy is based on a wrong policy, it needs corrected before America makes another damaging mistake. The choices America makes in dealing with the Iranian people are immensely importance in molding America’s relationship with a liberated Iran.
An open hearing into this matter will enhance, not damage, the reputation abroad of the US justice system, regardless of the outcome.

I hope with all my heart that you find it in your heart to hear this case to help Iranians mourn and bring closure for the family of Majid and Hossein Kavousifar.
