Thousands in Mahabad poured out onto the streets to protest the death sentence of a young Mahabadi man by the name of Mostafa Rasooli Nia who was arrested during the protests and unrest of last summer. Upon hearing the news thousands poured out onto the streets, honking their horns, large groups gathered in various parts of the city which was surrounded by the regime's militia. The regimes forces attacked protestors with tear gas . The protestors attacked the milita and there were clashes. The unrest continues and the city is mostly closed.
This Mahahabd youth was sentenced to death for killing a Revolutionary Guard by the name of Hangjoo, but during his trial he said that he was innocent and was brutally tortured and forced into signing a false confession. |
