Petition 60: Boycott SPIEGEL and ENGLISH DAILY TELEGRAPH For LIES and UNFOUNDED ATTACK on the LEGACY of CYRUS the GREAT

To: Freedom-Loving People Of The World, United Nations, People Of Germany , People Of UK , Iranians Worldwide, German Magazine Spiegel, English Daily Telegraph

Recently, the well-known German magazine, Spiegel, followed by the English Daily Telegraph, didn't offer a single shred of historical evidence when they launched their unbridled barrage of attacks on the legacy of the benevolent king Cyrus the Great who is universally regarded as one of the most tolerant historical figures to ever rule.

Spiegel Magazine repeatedly claims that the notion of Cyrus having been a defender of Human Rights is a "hoax that the UN had fallen for." Spiegel Magazine's deception and misleading accusations is reminiscent of another formidable enemy of Cyrus the Great, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In 1906, a formal English translation of Xenophon's story about Cyrus the Great's military campaigns was published. Xenophon, along with many other ancient sources regarded Cyrus the Great as a wise and benevolent leader who founded the Persian Empire, conquered Babylon; freed over 100,000 Jews from captivity; wrote mankind's first human rights charter; and ruled over his subjects with fairness and with justice.

According to historian Will Durant, Cyrus the Great's military enemies knew that he was lenient, and they did not fight him with that desperate courage which men show when their only choice is "to kill or die." As a result the Iranians regarded him as their "Father," the Babylonians as their "Liberator," the Greeks as a "Law-Giver," and the Jews as their "Messiah."

The Hebrew Bible mentions Cyrus the Great 23 times. In the Book of Isaiah, God calls Cyrus his "anointed one," messiah in Hebrew. "I call you by name," the text says. "I hail you by title." Cyrus is the only gentile in the Hebrew Bible to have earned such a distinction.

The Cyrus cylinder was discovered in 1879 by the Assyro-British archaeologist Hormuzd Rassam in the foundations of the Esagila (i.e., the Marduk temple of Babylon) and is kept today in the British Museum in London. The cylinder describes the Great King not as a conqueror, but as a liberator and the legitimate successor to the crown of Mesopotamia. Cyrus seems to have had no desire to force his new subjects into a single Persian identity, and had the wisdom to leave intact the functioning institutions of each kingdom he attached to the Imperial Crown.

Iranians worldwide are deeply offended by the baseless desecration of the founding father of Iran. We demand of Spiegel and English Daily Telegraph, in the strongest possible terms, an immediate apology, and an immediate retraction or a follow-up article based on real scholarship, real science and real experts in the field of Near Eastern history. We hope that this notice will suffice and obviate the need for further discussion.

To: Secretary-General of the United Nations

TO: His Excellency Ban Ki-moon
The Esteemed Secretary-General of the United Nations

August 30, 2008

Your Excellency Ban Ki-moon:

We, the undersigned, respectfully request your kind attention to the letter written by Mr. Abbas Amir-Entezam, one of the most respected pro-democracy leaders in Iran.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Amir-Entezam wrote:

Your Excellency Ban Ki-moon

The Esteemed Secretary-General of the United Nations

I am writing to you as the longest-held political prisoner in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and as a prisoner of conscious who has spent more than 29 years of his life in the regime’s dungeons for the crime of defending popular sovereignty and establishing democracy in Iran. I am currently on medical furlough in order to receive necessary treatment for medical conditions, the origins of which are the long imprisonment, as well as the maltreatment, malnutrition, and lack of medical care during my imprisonment. I am writing to you at a time of high tensions between Iran and the world community, the nuclear crisis, and the danger of another war.

Although cognizant of the regime’s extreme sensitivity about my activities, nevertheless I feel responsibility for the welfare of my compatriots. For the sake of defending the Iranian people’s rights to life and liberties, as well as for the sake of guarding peace in Iran and the crisis-ridden Middle East region, I am appealing to you. Through you and with your interjection, I appeal to the global community, humanity’s conscious, civil society institutions engaged in peace-building, and human rights supporters around the world.

Your Excellency,

The danger of war is so acute that only with mobilizing all the possible capabilities of the global community in support of the non-violent civil rights movement of the Iranian people, could we prevent this looming war.

The options that are on the table for the permanent members of the Security Council and the political leaders around the world, could not have any results other than increased harm to the material and ethical existence of the Iranian people. Increased sanctions, even smart sanctions, will increase the pain and suffering of the Iranian people with increased restrictions in the economic realm. These sanctions will only strengthen the regime-related smuggling groups as well as increase corruption, inflation, and unemployment. These sanctions will create shortages of various commodities and public necessities, which will gradually bury the Iranian people in mass graves.

On the other hand, the ruling regime will use the pretext of confronting foreign pressures to increase pressures on political, civil rights, and human rights activists in Iran. Under the excuse of confronting the enemy, the ruling regime will declare movements of the Iranian people for their freedoms and rights as unacceptable. The ruling regime will use the security environment in order to crush all movements of the civil society and bring absolute repression. Under such eerie conditions the regime will be taking the entire population of Iran as hostages.

For these reasons, it appears that the officials of this regime not only do not regard the kind of sanctions that have been imposed so far as any threat to their survival, but also welcome such sanctions. These sanctions will provide the regime the opportunity to declare war conditions, so that they could retaliate against the dissidents. In the same vein, threatening violence, in addition to creating irreparable costs for the Iranian people, will provide the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran the opportunity to increase repression at home, and continue the irresponsible and adventurist policies in all realms that will endanger the security of the Iranian people and those of the global community.

Neither war nor sanctions could change the behavior of the Islamic Republic regime in pursuing adventurism and accepting the necessities of international peace and security. Therefore, the only possible option is assisting the Iranian people to take leadership in managing their affairs and find an exit from the current impasse. In my opinion, the officials of the Islamic Republic will not accept freeze for freeze, nor will they accept the package of incentives offered by 5+1, because this regime needs crisis for its survival like one needs oxygen. For this reason, the nuclear dossier has provided the officials of the regime an opportunity to increase tensions, the necessary oxygen for regime survival.

If we think about and analyze the root causes of the nuclear crisis, we will easily discover that this crisis has its roots in the policies and strategic plans of the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Islamic Republic’s system has been so structured that producing crisis for the Iranian people as well as for the region and the global community have been its routine behaviors. This regime does not believe in freedom, democracy, peace, and the right of the people to choose their own destiny. That is why this regime is not concerned and worried about economic difficulties, psychological security, and financial security of the Iranian people. And this regime does not hesitate to sacrifice the entire population of Iran for its adventurism. For a regime which has such behavior towards its own population, naturally this regime will not hesitate to engage in any kind of violence towards others and threaten the right of existence of other peoples around the world.

Your Excellency,

The Iranian people, who are the primary victims of this regime’s adventurist, arrogant, selfish, violent, bellicose, and inhumane policies, are at the forefront of the struggles to change the behavior of this regime. Therefore, it would be auspicious, if your excellency would utilize all the capabilities and abilities of the United Nations to help the Iranian people in the struggle to determine their own destiny and to establish freedom and democracy. Your responsibility in defending peace, international security, and the rights to lives and liberties of the Iranian people and the people of the world is a grave responsibility.

If you take brave and responsible actions, history will honor you. And conversely, if you do not take brave and responsible actions, history will judge you harshly. When you look at the history and civilization of the honorable people of Iran, you would judge that the Iranian people have the capabilities and abilities of the free people around the world to choose their own destiny and utilize their cultural and material capabilities to advance peace and democracy.

Perhaps the costs of helping the Iranian people under these conditions are very hard. But such costs are far less than the costs of war and increased crisis and insecurities in the region and the world.

Your Excellency,

The people of Iran extend their hands in solidarity to you, and through you to leaders around the world, as well as to freedom-loving and peace-loving people around the world. Helping the Iranian people is helping the future of human kind.

Your Excellency,

My plea to you is very simple and at the same time is extremely significant. Demand the Islamic Republic to accept and implement all the primary conventions on human rights, conventions against torture, conventions against all forms of discrimination against women, and international criminal court’s treaty and laws as part of the confidence-building in the nuclear dossier and in order to have real control and monitoring of the nuclear activities. And the global community should utilize all its capabilities to monitor the regime’s respecting human rights, including charter of civil and political rights, and its voluntary protocols. Complete abiding of all human rights rules, norms, standards, and obligations in Iran is the key to solving the nuclear crisis as well as other crises in the region.

Your Excellency,

For the treatment of my medical conditions, I need to have access to my physicians at a moment’s notice. Returning me to prison again, may cause me to die. I am prepared to accept this heavy price with ease of mind in order to save the Iranian people from war, poverty, repression, starvation, catastrophe, mass killings, brain drain, and cultural destruction. By mentioning the possibility of my death, I wish to increase your moral responsibility so that you will go beyond traditional norms and activities of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and utilize all of the resources of the global community and use new and creative policies for the implementation of human rights rules and norms in Iran.
I am prepared to discuss the details of my plans and suggestions with your representatives and the experts whom you trust.

You can be certain that the great nation of Iran will be eternally grateful to you.

Sincerely yours,

Abbas Amir-Entezam

To: Ban Ki-moon:Secretary-General of the United Nations,Navi Pillay: United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, The European Union, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch

On August 25th 2008 a large number of Kurdish political prisoners went on a hunger strike, to protest against the brutal treatment of Kurdish political prisoners, as well as the imposition of heavy sentences including lengthy prison terms and the death sentence.

The Islamic Regime in Iran is well known for its inhumane treatment of political prisoners in general, and ethnic minorities in particular. Most of the Kurdish prisoners have been subjected to severe physical and psychological torture; many of them have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms, and some to death.

Many of these prisoners are human rights, civil rights or women’s rights activists and they include teachers, journalists, womens’ rights activists and students. The trials of these individuals have taken place behind closed doors, without a defence lawyer and on numerous occasions without the presence of the accused himself/herself.

Currently there are at least 8 Kurdish political prisoners on death row, the names of these individuals include Adnan Hassanpour, Hiwa Bwtimar, Farzad Kamangar, Anwer Hussein Panahy, Farhad Vakily, Ali Haidarian, Arsalan Awliaiy and Habibullah Latify.

Some of the prisoners sentenced to lengthy prison terms include Ms. Hanna Abdi (5 years imprisonment), Ms. Zaynab Baiazidy (4 years imprisonment), and Ms. Fatima Eftary (18 months imprisonment).

There are also many prisoners who are being held without a charge being laid against them or without a verdict. Some of these prisoners are Kawa Jwanmard, Ysir Guly, Hidayet Gazali, Sabah Nasri, Masoud Kurdpur, Rwnak Safarzade, Kamran Alaiy, Arash Alaiy.

We the undersigned urge The United Nations Secretary General, The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, The European Union as well as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to condemn the brutal treatment of political prisoners in Iran, in particular the treatment of ethnic minorities, and to pressure the Islamic Regime to:

1. Release all political prisoners who are being held without a charge, or in the alternative to charge them with internationally recognized crimes.

2. To rescind the death sentences for all political prisoners.

3. To have new trials for political prisoners whose trials took place behind closed doors. These new trials must meet international standards, be held in open court before a jury, with the presence of the accused and his/her defence lawyer.

4. To allow for visitations from independent human rights organizations to monitor the condition and treatment of political prisoners in Iranian prisons.

Sincerely,

To: Unidted Nations

Dear Mr. Secretary, Ban Ki-moon

The appearance of the president of a regime that according to the world community has been directly involved in internal and international terrorism in the general assembly of the United Nations is a clear violation of human rights and charter of the United Nations.

For the past thirty years all human and civil rights of the people of Iran have been violated by the regime that its representative is to appear in the UN general assembly. This is a clear violation of all internationally recognized rights of the people of Iran.

Mr. Secretary General:

The people of Iran expect that your office in protest to executions, tortures, stoning, imprisonment and imposition of gender apartheid and violation of basic human and civil rights by the Islamic regime of Iran, cancel the appearance of the Ahmadi-nejad. Ahmadi-nejad is a criminal and should be arrested and persecuted by the internal criminal court. Certainly the historical memory of the people of Iran will not forget your reaction to this request.

Mr. Secretary Ban Ki-moon

We the undersigned demand
1-Cancellation of the Ahmadi-nejad speech in general assembly of United Nations.
2-Ahmadi-nejad is a terrorist and should be arrested and persecuted.
3-Islamic regime of Iran should be expelled from the United Nations.

To: National Geographic

Dear Editor in Chief of the National Geographic Magazine:

In one of the previous issues, your prestigious publication erroneously referred to the Persian Gulf in an article about Iran as the Arabian Gulf; this caused millions of Iranians around the world to voice their concern regarding this inaccuracy.

In the August 2008 issue of the magazine, which contains 34 pages of in-depth article including pictures about ancient Iran (Persia), the author of the article along with the publication have reverted back to using the name "Persian Gulf" instead of the non-existent "Arabian Gulf". It was a refreshing article that shows the true character and history of the Iranian people to the world.

We want to hereby thank and commend National Geographic for the article “Ancient Iran, Inside a Nation’s Persian Soul” which has reflected on parts of our ancient civilization and history that we are so proud of.

Sincerely,

To: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Elected Free World Leaders, Representative, and Human Rights Activists

We are outraged by the annual brutal slaughter of dolphins and whales that takes place in Japan and in the Faroe Islands Denmark. The images of bloody red water clearly show the world that Japan and Faroe Islands Denmark have little respect for the state of the world’s oceans and Dolphin rights to exist.

We demand that Japan and Denmark permanently and immediately renounce and stop dolphins slaughter. Please watch documentary video clips.[1]

How many dolphins do you think it is reasonable to kill in order to catch the Tuna fish?
In the past 30 years, 6,000,000 dolphins have been killed by "fishing on dolphins". [2]

The research, conducted at the Duke University Marine Laboratory (US) and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland (UK) estimate that approximately 308,000 dolphins, whales, and porpoises killed in fishing gear annually. [3]

When the total of 152 dolphins (79 in September and 73 in October 2007) were washed up on Iran's Persian Gulf, Jask coast “mass suicide” was blamed by officials news agency. Asking UN actions to stop severe oil pollution which poses serious threat to Persian Gulf ecosystem and corals, reported by BBC [1]. The precise cause of Persian Gulf dolphins’ tragedy by oil pollution or Navy Sonar has not been established yet and UN investigation is expected and required. [4]

If we knew the realities behind our choices, would take a step back and reconsider … Due to lack of comprehensive Unified International Mother Earth clean water act (ocean, sea, lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, and ponds), we are asking our elected representative and UN to co-sponsor an important 360 degree clean water protection bill to stop over fishing and pollution, to clean Persian Gulf from oil pollution, to regulate harmful Navy Sonar systems, to establish international monitoring programs with the stringent "zero discharge" of pollutants into the mother earth’s waters, and integrated international community enforcement of water quality standards agreement.

We are also reminded by Albert Einstein, “The world is a dangerous place not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”

We have learned from the Epic of Kings masterpiece by Ferdowsi (935-1020) the world famous great Persian poet: "Crush not even the tiny ant that beareth a grain of corn, for she hath life, and sweet life is a boon."

Now as a first step for the Real Global Change please sign, support, and distribute this petition to increase public awareness and global actions to promote Dolphin Rights to the same level of Human Rights. Due to the complexity of this major global problem domain, our active participation, and global dialogue is required and if you have a new innovating solution, brilliant idea, actions or recommendations please consider to share it with public in the comments section of this petition.

Petition 67: Mission for Establishment of Human Rights in Iran

To: Honorable Congresswoman Jackson-Lee,

House Resolution 33

The Islamic Regime of Iran must be held Accountable for

Violating the Human Rights of Iranians

I would like to express my appreciation and support for the H. Res 33. This resolution is unprecedented in recognizing the Iranians sufferings under the Islamic Regime of Iran (IRI) and has gone beyond the customary ineffective lip service to human rights of Iranians. Repeated calls in H. Res. 33 for holding the IRI officials accountable for its violations of human rights, including freedom of religion, is very encouraging.

Since its inception, the IRI has been condemned regularly by all international human rights organization, UN, EU, and U.S. State Department, with little and lasting effect on the human rights conditions in Iran . The reason has been the lack of IRI’s accountability for violating the human rights of Iranians. In a wide range of sanctions imposed against the IRI, there is no condition whatsoever regarding the human rights violations in general and release of the Iranian prisoners of conscience in particular.

The extreme policies of either attacking Iran or making friendly relations with the Islamic Regime are both against the interests of the Iranian people and the entire world. This black and white foreign policy has been mainly adopted and dictated by the Islamic Regime and its Iranian lobby groups and individuals.

Unlike any sort of military attack on Iran that would have disastrous consequences for the Iranian people, a smart sanction against the religious dictatorship in Iran and holding it accountable for not abiding by international human rights standards, will be a clear and strong message to Iranians that the world community is with them and is not recognizing their abusers. This will encourage the Iranian people to arm themselves with the weapon of nonviolence and civil disobedience more than ever and, by toppling this terrorist regime, eliminate the dangers it poses to humanity.

It is therefore of great interests to many Iranians, if section (4F) of resolution 33 is clarified in the sense that any dialog with the IRI would be only for serving it with warnings regarding its human rights violations and that the Islamic Regime in its entirety would be accountable if they don’t comply with the international norms and treaties.

House resolution ( H. Res 1310) that was introduced by Congresswoman Jackson-Lee in 2008, was reintroduced in 2009 as H. Res. 33. Congresswoman Jackson has introduced two more valuable resolutions asking for equality of women (H. J. RES 10) and stopping the threat of radical Islamist terrorism and Iranian adventurism (H. CON. RES 16) and deserves to be supported.

To: UNESCO World Heritage, the British Government, the British Museum, International media, and all organizations and individuals concerned with preservation of humanity’s precious treasures

The British Museum is planning to lend the Islamic Republic in April, one of the most precious antiquities in the world, Cyrus the Great Cylinder. The Cyrus Cylinder has been hailed as the first charter of human rights. In 1971, in recognition of the unique nature of this artifact, the United Nations produced a translation of it in all the UN official languages.

A vast number of Iranians are deeply concerned about the fate of the Cyrus Cylinder, should it be loaned to the Islamists presently ruling Iran. The hostility of the clerical regime of Iran toward anything and everything Iranian that predates Islam is a well-documented fact. This priceless artifact belongs to Iran. Entrusting it to the hands of the sworn enemies of Iranian heritage entails an unacceptably high risk. It is imperative that the British authorities rescind the decision and take every measure to insure that the Cyrus Cylinder is preserved safely and returned to its rightful owner Iran only after the demise of the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is staffed by diehard elements that are determined to wipe out all traces of the pre-Islamic era. They aim to surpass the heinous act of Afghanistan's Taliban who destroyed the irreplaceable two Buddha statues. What is enshrined in the Cyrus Cylinder is unconditional respect for the complete rights of all the people of the world, an anathema to the Islamists' credo.

The current Islamic regime under the mullahs has shown, on numberless occasions, its contempt both in words and action for the memory of Cyrus, including flooding the plain which houses Cyrus’s tomb, destroying the archeological sites of Pasargad and Persepolis, and harassing and intimidating those who would gather at the tomb of enlightened king to commemorate the International Day of Cyrus the Great.

It is with great apprehension that the Iranian people warn Mr. Andrew Murray Burnham, the British Secretary of State for culture, as well as the British government regarding the plan to lend this precious treasure of humanity to a contemptuous cult of medieval mullahs.

Furthermore, it is urgent that UNESCO take the additional step of immediately registering Cyrus’s Charter of Human Rights Cylinder in its World Heritage Memory, in order to safeguard the diverse cultural heritage of the peoples of the world.

Sincerely,

A Petition to Release Roxanna Saberi

We condemn and appose the arrest by the Iranian Government of the American journalist, Roxanna Saberi. For the past 30 years this Radical Regime has not only arrested and executed thousands of its own innocent citizens, but has put to death foreign journalists such as Zahra Kazemi, an Iranian Canadian. Her crime was photographing desperate families gathered outside Tehran s notorious Evin prison where the Regime regularly tortures and executes political prisoners and religious trespassers and where a special area is designated for women to be stoned to death in the manner proscribed by the Koran. Under the direction of Iran s most feared prison warden, Saeed Mortazavi, the method used for Ms. Kazemis execution was continuous beatings.

In order to silence her, Roxanna Saberi was entrapped by agents of the government and arrested for the crime of buying a bottle of wine. We believe that she is being held in that same Evin prison where most political prisoners are held, tortured and executed. She has been unable to communicate with the outside world for weeks. We believe that Roxanna's life is in grave danger and that she may meet a very grisly death unless we put pressure on the Regime to release her. This petition will be presented to senior Iranian officials in a very public way so that the Regime will feel unable to secretly murderer Roxanna.

We the undersigned stand for justice, peace, democracy, human rights and demand that the Iranian Government release Roxanna Saberi.

Release Behrooz Javid Tehrani

Condemn the suspicious deaths of political prisoners
in Islamic Republic of iran's jails!

Just imagine ten years, twenty years, and a lifetime of flogging, torture and solitary confinement instead of kind, gentle and heartfelt touch of your beloved ones.
Having been deprived of family’s and friends’ loving and caring is a psychological torture in itself and yet, imagine adding physical torture to it. This would make life unbearable even for one day.
It would be unimaginable to even contemplate such destiny for a human being and yet, this is the fate of all those locked up in Islamic Republic of Iran’s medieval jails as “Political Prisoners”.

Inside the Islamic Republic’s state controlled jails, prisoners are subjected to the most barbaric and inhumane maltreatments; Amputation of parts of body, gauging of the eyes, flogging, stoning to death and finally, execution. Human life is basically worthless through the eyes of the rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Recently, this inhumane and barbaric regime has found the audacity to embark on inflicting suspicious crimes on the defenceless political prisoners, particularly those held in the horrific and notorious “Evin” and “Gohardasht” prisons.
In the recent months, two political prisoners were murdered inconspicuously at these prisons. No prison authority has yet been held responsible for either of these crimes.
“Amir Heshmat Saran”, a political prisoner, and “Omidreza Mir Sayaffi”, a weblog author are two of such recent victims who lost their lives under extremely suspicious circumstances in Islamic Republic’s jails.

Behrooz Javid Tehrani is a young Iranian student Human Rights activist who’s been held captive in Islamic Republic’s prisons for over ten years, while enduring daily psychological and physical torture. Nevertheless, he has remained defiant and has not given up resistance.
Behrooz has spent many months in solitary confinement and has endured the most brutal forms of medieval torture at the notorious “Evin” prison. Two years ago he was transferred to “Gohardasht” which according to some political inmates, is reputed for being “The end of the ROAD”!
Here at “Gohardasht” he has been held in “Section 1” which is designated for solitary confinements and inflicting brutal torture.

Below, we read his last letter to the “Outside World” which was smuggled out covertly. In his letter, he states that he’s been receiving death threats by his captors and that his life is in danger.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
“Here, the ghastly executioners have exceeded all inhumane boundaries. I have no other alternative but to resort to hunger strike and seek your support to find a safe haven for me.
Today, 6 April 2009, when my sister came to visit me, the barbaric behaviour of my jailers towards me and my sister in the visitors’ hall annihilated my patience. They not only subjected me to the most disgraceful and humiliating type of body search and inspection, and even confiscated the smallest piece of paper and a phone number I was carrying, but they also did worse than that to my sister. The visitor’s hall’s wardens, Misters Islamic, Ahmadi and Khosravi, and Mrs. Shahbazi behaved most callously towards me and my family who had only come to visit me. They only granted us 3 minutes just to be awkward with us. My sister had tried for a month to be given the chance to visit me and had travelled from Tehran to Karaj. And yet they only gave us 3 minutes to talk. Our objections to their behaviour only caused more violence towards us. This kind of behaviour was of course contrived by the management and higher authorities of “Gohardasht” prison.
The day Amir Heshmat Saran died (Murdered) under extremely suspicious circumstances, the prison authorities instructed us to keep quiet about it and not to mention anything to anyone. As everyone knows, we did quite the opposite and exposed the circumstances under which Amir Heshmat lost his life.
For sometime now, no one in this prison has been following up my ill health. My health has been deteriorating due to the inflicted tortures by the “Ministry for Security”. The prison clinic at “Rajayee Shahr” prison refuses to refer me to a civilian hospital as I need to have a M.R.I. scan done to diagnose my illnesses. I have been suffering from the loss of 50% of my vision due to blows to the back of my head which has partially damaged the rear side of my brain.
Today, in my family’s presence, the head warden threatened me: “You counter revolutionary idiot, you will soon join your friend Saran”!
Dear compatriots, I have been captive for over ten years as a political prisoner; since the students’ uprising on 9 July 1998. Have I any option other than starting a hunger strike?

Behrooz Javid Tehrani
The last survivor of 9 July students’ uprising in Rajayee Shahr prison
6 April 2009”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Remembering the “Serial murders” of the political prisoners within Iran’s jails, we the undersigned hereby express our deepest concerns regarding Behrooz Javid Tehrani’s situation and demand his immediate unconditional release. Behrooz is in desperate need of medical attention and needs to return to his family.
Torture and execution should not be the reward for a Human Rights activist.
By signing this petition, we show our sincere appreciation of what he has endured for the past ten years and show our solidarity with him until the moment he is released.
We also demand the inspection of Iran’s prisons by an international envoy under the supervision of the United Nations and the Human Rights Watch. In particular, the situation at “Section 1” of Gohardasht and “Section 209” of Evin prisons need a close and thorough investigation by meeting the prisoners whose names shall be disclosed by us. We demand a one to one and private interview with these prisoners by the delegation.
The violation of Human Rights has been practised in Iran for over 30 years and we hereby express our deepest concerns regarding this, in particular the recent life threatening situation which all political prisoners in Iran are faced with.
The responsibility for any criminal act against the honourable political prisoners in Iran lies with the Clero-Fascist regime of the Islamic Republic.
sincerely

Sincerely,

To: various political bodies as well as Congresswoman Harman's office, in addition to the media and Israeli and American embassies

Concerning the objectionable statements by California Congresswoman Jane Harman regarding the balkanization of Iran.

The Iranian community within and without Iran, through this petition, are expressing our deepest objections regarding the irresponsible statements of Democratic Representative Jane Harman in regard to her statements regarding division of the territorial integrity of Iran.

Ms. Harman on the 3rd of May 2009 during the annual conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) at the Washington Convention Center expressed views regarding combating the Iranian challenge that included the territorial separation of the sovereign state of Iran, in addition to indicating the use of force against Iran.

As a community and as a people we find any talk of dividing the ethnicities of our eternally united nation as unacceptable and grotesquely irresponsible.

These outrageous statements that were met with thundering applause in the midst of high level American and Israeli diplomats were and are considered to be profoundly offensive and humiliating to the sensibilities of Iranians all across the world.

We are deeply disappointed at the response to these statements, and many of us who vehemently oppose the tyrannical system of the Islamic Republic were turned off and uniformly outraged by the sentiments expressed. These suggestions about dividing up and creating Iranian on Iranian tension will be met with the utmost opposition of our community.

There are certainly profound disagreements among Iranians of all stripes against the ruling regime in Iran, but this outrageous display of ignorance about the Iranian nation and it's deep historical roots will only serve to stifle reform and rally people in the middle to support an otherwise deeply unpopular regime.

We are stunned and outraged that a US Congresswoman with such scant and distorted views about our region would have the audacity to so cavalierly speak on matters whose ramifications if put in practice could embroil the Middle East in a long and protracted conflict that will eventually drain America of it's resources and potentially spell enormous damage for America's long term interests.

Considering the profound offense that our community has taken to the words of Congresswoman Harman particularly at such a prestigious forum of ideas, we sincerely hope that she reconsider her statements and grant us a full formal apology so that these misunderstandings don't occur in the future. We will shortly be sending our petitions to various political bodies as well as Congresswoman Harman's office, in addition to the media and Israeli and American embassies.

On behalf of Iranians abroad and within Iran

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

To: Prosecutors of the International Court of Justice

Dear Madams/Sirs, Prosecutors of the International Court of Justice,

Based on the constitution of the Islamic regime ruling Iran, Ali Khamenei, the leader designated as The Absolute Theocratic Guardianship, has unlimited authority, his commands must be unconditionally enforced and he cannot be challenged or opposed in any way. As such, Ali Khamenei acts in nothing more than in his own self-interest, in dereliction of his duty to safeguarding the lives, property and dignity of the people of Iran and maniacally runs rough shod over our nation; and with the aid of his oppressive henchmen, they add to the multitudes of the tortured and murdered of this land. This is a dictator whose inept and brutal policies has stiffled any expression of dissent and has squarely put our country in the path of destruction.

This suffocation and continued injustice has drowned out the voices of protesting groups such as the legions of workers, teachers, students, writers, journalists, bloggers, etc. Each day the number of the executed and tortured, in the prisons increases, all simply as a result of differences of opinion or opposition to the regime’s course of action.

As a result, in view of the recent warrant issued by your court, in the case of Omar al-Bashir, the criminal leader of The Sudan, we the below signatories, call upon you to also investigate crimes committed by Ali Khamenei, and to also issue a warrant for his arrest.

To: To the people of the world!

Mr. Ban Ki-Moon,
Noble Ladies and Gentlemen; heads of the democratically elected governments of the world,

Over the past few days, following the fraudulent Iranian presidential “elections”, the entire world has been witnessing the uprising of the freedom loving people of Iran against deception, injustice and tyranny of the rulers of the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian people have been demonstrating their outrage against their repressive rulers by the millions and in epic levels throughout Iran. After 30 years of oppressive and despotic rule by the clerics, the great and heroic people of Iran are now determined not to allow their intelligence to be insulted any longer and have decided that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and are unequivocally calling for an end to the tyrant rule of the clerics in Iran. The Islamic rulers and the clergy not only have no respect for the will of the Iranian people, but have demonstrated their truly fascist essence by resorting to the most barbaric and inhumane crack downs on people’s peaceful demonstrations.

In their quest for achieving their goal, which is for a free, democratic and secular Iran, the Iranian people are being confronted by the most brutal and barbaric attacks by the state police, security forces and armed thugs organised by Ahmadinejad’s government. Thousands of protestors have been brutally assaulted and beaten up and many have been killed in the most vulgar manners during the peaceful rallies in Tehran and other major cities.

There are hundreds of pictorial evidences recorded on still and movie cameras showing the barbaric behaviours of the Islamic Republic’s security forces, which in time shall be presented to the International Courts of Law as hard evidence in order to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice. The ultimate responsibility of these crimes will be put upon the rulers of the regime, in particular, Mr. Khamenei himself; the so called “Supreme Leader”!

We, the undersigned, draw your immediate attention to the following:

• Any State with such measures of brutality and savagery against its own people can not possibly be tolerated and hence be worthy of recognition by the world community.

• At these critical moments, the Iranian people need the support of the world community who have been watching the ongoing events in Iran with dismay.

• The free and democratic nations can not possibly tolerate such barbaric behaviours of a repressive state against the will its own people.

• The Islamic Republic of Iran has been and continues to be in gross and intolerable violation of all international conventions to which they are party to and have been signatory to adhere to.

• After the recent events in Iran, and the barbaric response of the Islamic government to the protestors in the aftermath of the rigged “elections”, the world community can not possibly consider the Islamic Republic’s government as the true and legitimate representative of the great Iranian nation.

• We demand the United Nations to expel the Islamic Republic of Iran from the United Nations and void its membership in protest for its blatant violation of human rights in Iran. There are hundreds of undeniable pictures and video clips to substantiate this fact.

• Equally well, we ask all the Free States and governments of the world to expel the Islamic Republic’s so called “Diplomats” from their countries and to close down its embassies in their respective countries to show their denunciation of Islamic Republic’s inhumane behaviour against its people and to support the legitimate demands of the freedom seeking people of Iran.

We expect the free world community to stand beside the Iranian people during these critical times and to show their support for their freedom seeking struggle during these decisive moments.

Sincerely,

To: support Iranian people
Message to the conscious people of the world, in support of Iranian people

There is no need to explain to you what has been happening to the peace-loving and freedom-seeking people of Iran. Over the last few days, everyone has seen videos and pictures coming out of Iran, exposing the brutal encounter of the Islamic government with the people of that country, driving the situation into a full-scale catastrophe, endangering the life of a 70 million strong nation; the majority of whom are youngsters and children. The crime of this people is their civilized resistance against a suffocating dictatorship and not accepting the result of a fraudulent election that has taken place under deceit and lies.

The inevitable world-wide knowledge of this catastrophe puts a heavy burden of responsibility on the shoulders of all conscience members of the human society who believe in the dignity of human life, and human rights without any discrimination.

The people of Iran - women and men, old and young - have no expectation from their fellow humans but to support them and try to stop this ever-increasing bloody suppression in any possible way.

We, the undersigned, residents of different countries of this unique world, demand that each of our governments puts aside any reluctance to interfere in this human catastrophe and, instead of issuing hollow declaration, immediately begin to use the instrument of UN Security Council for a unified decision on punishing the Islamic Republic for its cruel and brutal actions and release the Iranian people from the clinches of this suppression.

Needless to say that, we will consider the reaction of our elected state-persons in this regards as a criterion in the future elections in our countries.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
