An Islamist judge was able to escape from an ambush yesterday night in northern Tehran. Fazli-Nejad who's known for his role in crackdown on Iranian bloggers was on his way home when he was attacked by armed assailants.
His life was saved due to his bullet proof car hit by several shots.
Fazli-Nejad is also a close collaborator of Judge Moghadassi who was killed last Wednesday by armed assailants.
Rumors are stating that the regime intelligence circles might have been behind the murder attempt as Fazli-Nejad had resigned from his position, last month, and has threatened to speak up about series of injustices made, such as, in the case of Serial Murders.

Thats him
Here's a longer story in Persian from Peykeiran:
http://web.peykeiran.com/new/iran/iran_news_body.aspx?ID=25527
The story goes into details of where it happened and how. Repeats the same rumors, with the addition of his resignation a month ago was followed by a plea to help victims of the regime, yeah right. Also it mentions that after his resignation he said the regime would be responsible for his life, since he feared reprecussions as a result of jailing bloggers. I guess both rumors are kinda of true, could've been the Mullah$, could've been the opposition.
The story does mention the very long list of govt. officials, regime insiders and hardliners who visited him in the hospital though. Doesn't sound like this guy was ratting them out, or on the out and out with the Mullah$, not with the Islami$t luminaries streaming in to visit him in the hospital! But then again, it could've been for appearances only.
Bad time to be a judge in Iran, I guess |
