A documentary film on the life of the contemporary Iranian poet Sohrab Sepehri is currently under production.

Announcing this, the director and producer of the documentary Hosseinali Binavaei told the Persian daily Hambastegi that the film was shot in Niyasar, Kashan and Tehran, Iran Daily reported.

"In addition to Sohrab's life, the documentary also includes interviews with his relatives including his sister (Parvaneh)," he said.

Binavaei said that the documentary which is being made for television screening is named after one of Sohrab's poem, the metaphorical title 'Sound of Water's Foot'.

"In the documentary film, about 21 relatives, friends and classmates of the poet have been interviewed including Nematollah Madihi, Mohammad Filsofi (Sohrab's close friend), Ahmad Edalati, Mashhadizadeh, Kalantari, and Masoumeh Seyhoun.

Binavaei, who has been involved in research studies about Sohrab, said that the documentary will be aired on television in three parts each lasting for 45 minutes. The first part deals with his childhood until 18-19-year old living in Kashan, the second part deals with his departure to Tehran for education in the teacher training institute, the prolific part of his life when he wrote his poems and proceeded with studies until his death. The last part deals with Sohrab's memories as narrated by his relatives and friends.
