If you haven't yet heard then hear up quick. Iranian bloggers are making a difference and we need to lend them our support. Recently, Sina Motallebi's, well-known Iranian blogger who was himself arrested last year, father was arrested in Iran for his son's blog. This corresponds with the crackdown of reformist ristes like Emrooz and Rouydad. Some bloggers are asking us to make a difference. The best three english blogs for reports are:

Editor: Myself: http://hoder.com/weblog/archives/012124.shtml
Iranian Truth: http://iraniantruth.blogspot.com/2004/09/crackdown-on-websites-this-is-update.html
The Eyeranian: http://www.eyeranian.net/2004/09/16,987.shtml

Sina's site Rooznegar has the best Persian coverage: http://www.rooznegar.com/

In addition a big protest is being planned by bloggers against the violent crackdown against the freedom of speech: http://i.hoder.com/archives/2004/09/040916_012138.shtml

Shahee -

These Iranian blogs you mention are kind of suspicious - I've followed them for years and they are pro-reformist and NIAC loving..

Maybe, but that seems irrelevant as long as they wish to promote human rights in Iran and democratic governance. Nothing is more important than those two concepts. Also there's nothing in those blogs that I've noticed, that is false, manufactured, or otherwise. Right now they are drawing attention to the abuse to freedom of speech. Regardless of how they see change in Iran, that type of activism is important and ought to have attention.

But what does that have to do with the legitimacy of their opinion and bringing to view human rights abuses? After reading Iranian Truth, there seems to be a lot of diverse opinions about all issues. I think thats pretty progressive. Shouldn't we be supportive of that?
