Tehran, April 13 - Tehran municipality is to undertake a ground-breaking 135 million euros project for establishment of monorail service between central and downtown Tehran.
Tehran Municipality awaits Tehran City Council's (TCC) approval of a bill, which calls for implementation of the project under bot scheme to connect Imam Hossein and Rah-Ahan squares through a 19.5 kms monorail line.
The line comprises about 50 stations, whose maintenance cost has been estimated at 2.2 million euros a year with an annual growth rate of 20 percent.
Tehran City Council has yet to examine and approve the bill.
TCC's technical commission has opposed the bill due to ambiguities in the definition of bot offered for the project, unspecified duration for implementation of the project and failure to assess monthly profits of the project.
Furthermore, the projected monorail service is said to be unable to be as efficient as public bus transportation services, according to head of the urban development and technical commission of the TCC Hassan Ziari in a letter to the TCC head.

Iran is Germanys number one investor
Berlin, April 13 - Iran has outpaced the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to become Germany's number one trading partner in the Near and Middle East region, a leading German trade official announced in an Iran investment conference, hosted by the Iranian embassy in Berlin on Tuesday.
"Among 20 Near and Middle East countries, Iran has become Germany's number one trading partner as German exports to Iran topped 3.574 billion Euros and imports (from Iran) reached 391 million Euros," said the Chairman of the German Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV), Werner Schoeltzke.
"Nobody expected that (Iran-German) economic relations would develop so quickly and to this extent," added the official who pointed to Hermes export credit insurance coverage as one of the main reasons for the growing bilateral trade volume.
Schoeltzke was joined by Iran's Ambassador to Germany Seyed Shamseddin Khareghani who also addressed the one-day conference on various aspects of doing business with Iran.

Hope these positive things can alleviate some people from all the talks about nuclear weapons and separatist stories out there. _________________ "May Ahura Mazda protect this land, this nation, from rancor, from foes, from falsehood, and from drought"

So, Pasa, your saying Iran should be happy with a new puppet President who will make such reformist noises as his Imam/GC masters let him? While they perfect the nuclear horrors to preserve their thousand year Reich? And a new monorail from the courts right to the prison? Hitler built some nice roadways too, before he started the war that destroyed his country! _________________ The Sun Is Rising In The West!Soon It Will Shine on All of Iran! |
