The truth is that John Kerry sells innocent Iranians out to Islamist terrorism financiers just to achieve better Public Relations for the U.S.! This is the man who's more worried about image than Human Rights!

Carter,Kerry and the Mullahs' Apologists must stay away of Iranian Affairs.

It's now clear that they are not interested in a Free Iran.

Council on Foreign Relations provides Aid and Comfort to the Enemy

Washington, DC (July 16, 2004) – Incredibly, those in the foreign policy establishment primarily responsible twenty-five years ago for America’s abandonment of democratic elements in Iran to the tyranny of violent, extremist mullahs, are now calling for “engagement” with the very terror masters of Tehran that they helped empower.

Clearly, decades after the calamitous and unprincipled policies of the Carter Administration opened the way to the bloody subjugation of Iranian liberty, Zbignew Brzezinski, Robert Gates and the Council on Foreign Relations have learned nothing in the intervening years from Iran’s bloody oppression and the rise of radical Islamism that has killed thousands of Americans.

The CFR dismisses as futile the sacrifices and aspirations of pro-democratic Iranians, and advocates “direct dialogue with Tehran on matters of mutual concern.” Such a course is inimical to a foreign policy that promotes global stability, advances the prospects of democratic self-determination for the Iranian people, and provides for the defense of the strategic interests of the U.S. and the western democracies.

The CFR’s “New Approach” is in fact the same old accommodationism that lost Iran as America’s ally in the 1970s, and gives aid and comfort to the enemies of liberty, democracy, and modernity. By legitimizing the reign of the IRI’s medieval “mullahcracy,” the elitists of the CFR abandon those fighting for freedom and universal human rights. The lawless despots of Tehran are aggressively developing a nuclear weapons capacity to attack or blackmail the west – against the wishes of the Iranian people. Nuclear weapons in the hands of this regime will inevitably prolong its illegitimate grasp on power.

The IRI has less than 10 % of popular support within the country, by its own polling. “Dialogue” can only embolden the mullahs, damage the good will that exists between most Iranians and America, and set back the cause of liberty. As was graphically seen in their acts of solidarity following the attacks of 9/11, the Iranian people look to the U.S. for models of democratic institutions, and moral support for self-liberation.

A global freedom movement is emerging in rejection of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in support of the legacy of the Iranian Students Uprising of 1999. Any rapprochement with the terror masters of Tehran will damage and undermine this movement, and is not in the long-term interest of peace.

Commentary on the position of the Iranian democratic resistance movement, and its utter rejection of the presumptuous pro-IRI advocacy of the CFR will be provided by representative spokespersons immediately outside the location of the Council on Foreign Relations Press Briefing, Monday July 19, 2004, the Washington Club, 15 Dupont Circle NW, Washington DC. For information, please call Audrey Mullen, 202-861-5677.

Lack of Iran Contacts Said Harming U.S. Interests

July 19, 2004
Reuters
Carol Giacomo

WASHINGTON -- The lack of sustained engagement with Iran over the last 25 years is harming U.S. interests at a time when America is engaged to an unprecedented extent in the Middle East and Central Asia, according to a panel of experts and former U.S. officials.

In a report published on Monday by the Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank, the panel warned that "overcoming the absence of any U.S.-Iranian contacts may be the only alternative to ... force" to assuage U.S. concerns about Iran's behavior.

It recommended that Washington change its approach to a "selective" engagement with Iran that includes incentives, like the prospect of U.S. commercial ties, as well as penalties, in an effort to resolve a growing nuclear problem and stabilize the Middle East,

The findings were released during a U.S. election campaign that is focused on President Bush's foreign policy leadership and amid rising American fears that Iran is galloping ahead in a quest to build a nuclear bomb.

Throughout its tenure, Bush's administration has been divided over whether to reach out to Iran after a quarter-century of hostility or to toughen its approach.

Democratic presidential challenger John Kerry has signaled an interest in greater engagement with Tehran.

The task force, chaired by former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and former CIA Director Robert Gates, concluded that "the current lack of sustained engagement with Iran harms U.S. interests in a critical region of the world and that direct dialogue with Tehran on specific areas of mutual concern should be pursued."

DIALOGUE URGED

A U.S.-Iran political dialogue should not be deferred until differences over Iran's nuclear ambitions and its involvement in regional conflicts have been resolved, the report said.

"Rather, the process of selective political engagement itself represents a potentially effective path for addressing those differences" as was seen in U.S. engagement with China and the former Soviet Union.

Lying "at the heart of the arc of the crisis in the Middle East," Iran has such intricate ties to Iraq and Afghanistan -- sites of major U.S. military operations -- that it is a "critical actor" in both countries' postwar evolution, the report added.

The report called Iran's nuclear ambitions "one of the most urgent issues" facing the United States.

Task force members were divided on whether Tehran is fully committed to developing a nuclear weapon.

But they agreed that, even while cooperating with U.N. nuclear monitors, Iran will continue "attempting to conceal the scope of its nuclear program in order to keep its options open as long as possible."

Iran hid its nuclear activities for 18 years until they were exposed by an Iranian opposition group in 2002 and then inspected by the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Tehran denies U.S. charges it is using a civilian nuclear program to conceal a covert bid for nuclear arms.

Some U.S. estimates say Iran could have a nuclear bomb by 2006 if no steps are taken to slow the program.

The panel rejected a "grand bargain" that would seek to settle comprehensively all U.S.-Iran conflicts, including U.S. allegations that Iran backs terrorism, undermines Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts and stirs problems in Iraq.

The United States and Iran have not had diplomatic ties since the 1979 Islamic revolution when student fundamentalists held 52 American hostages for 444 days.

Its good to take a look at the British. They sent Jack Straw to Iran so many times in the last year, Iran became his second home. Prince Charles himself went to Iran in February, just in time for the 25th anniversary of this stain on humanity known as the Islamic Republic.

The UK showered the Mullah$ with talks, incentives, trade, legitimisation and sent Straw and Prince Charles there for lots of smiling Photo Ops with the Murderous Mullah$, and what was the result? The Mullah$ accelerated their nuclear weapons program, flagrantly defied the E3 and the UN with games over inspections, continued their sabotage of Iraq and Afghansitan, continued to aid Al Queda, lent lots of support to terrorists in Syria and Lebanon, and they took 2 British ships and their sailors hostage, with lots of press shots of blindfolded British sailors called spies flooding the international media. And the Mullah$ are still continuing to embarrass the British who can't even get back their ships Laughing

Now this is what this idiot panel, with people like Brezinki who are responsible for Islamist Terrorism, are proposing for the US?!

What do you expect from the people who invented Islamist Terrorism, except for more insane ideas. Rolling Eyes

More executions carried in Esfahan

SMCCDI (Information Service)
Jul 19, 2004

The Islamic regime has executed two more individuals under false charges of "Banditism" and "Kidnapping" in the rebellious City of Esfahan.

These two new victims of the regime's persistent repression of Iranians were named "Mehdi Yazdani" and "Navab Davoodi" aged 20 and 18.

The regime's demagoguery goes to the point of stating that the two executed were part of a band named "Evil".

The Islamic regime has increased the number of executions since last March in an effort to put a stop on the growing opposition and increase of armed struggle.
